← Back to Industry Terms

An AI camera is a camera system that combines image capture with artificial-intelligence analysis, performed on the device or through connected processing, to detect specified objects or activities.

In industrial safety, supported models may recognize pedestrians, vehicles, or defined visible conditions. A standard camera can also supply video to a separate analytics system. The camera view, processing arrangement, model, and event rules determine the application.

Trio Mobil’s TRIO SAFE AI uses forklift-mounted AI cameras for pedestrian detection, while TRUE-AI supports area monitoring. AI Risk Radar can analyze supported footage from these sources and existing CCTV. For example, a fixed view over a shared crossing can support configured monitoring without requiring every pedestrian to wear a tag.
