TRIO SAFE AI is Trio Mobil’s forklift safety solution that combines AI cameras and Ultra-Wideband proximity sensing for pedestrian detection, alerts, and configured slowdown on compatible forklifts. The AI camera uses deep learning and edge computing for tagless pedestrian detection within its monitored view, while UWB detects proximity between compatible equipped vehicles and tagged pedestrians, extending coverage in blind spots. The combined setup is designed to provide 360-degree coverage; actual detection depends on camera placement, installation, and configured system coverage.

Use cases include forklift-pedestrian encounters, forklift-to-forklift collision avoidance, and operation alongside AGVs or AMRs. UWB gateways on forklifts can detect other equipped forklifts and support automatic slowdown when configured proximity limits are reached. The solution is designed for use across different forklift brands and models, as well as AGVs and AMRs; specific vehicle functions depend on installation and supported interfaces. Configured zone controls can apply slowdown in blind spots, crossings, and other high-risk areas. Vehicle-to-infrastructure communication can also support alerts at high-risk intersections when the required infrastructure is installed.

When configured risk conditions are met, the system can provide audiovisual warnings and automatic two-stage forklift slowdown. The warnings support driver awareness, while slowdown requires the appropriate configuration and vehicle connection. Event video clips, safety statistics, near-miss reporting, and leading safety indicators support review of interactions and ongoing risk assessment.

Small event video clips and real-time data are available through the Digital Facility Platform. Optional access management can restrict operation to authorized drivers using access cards; optional forklift management can add operating hours, utilization rates, and impact reporting. Its scalable, plug-and-play architecture can integrate zone-based safety, fleet management, and RTLS through a unified platform and infrastructure, subject to deployment requirements.
