Hazard Detection

← Back to Industry Terms

Hazard detection is the identification of conditions, activities, or interactions that could cause injury, illness, or damage.

Detection may come from inspections, worker reports, sensors, or video analysis. A detection identifies a condition for evaluation; risk assessment considers who may be exposed, the potential consequences, and the controls needed. Some hazards, such as airborne exposures, require methods beyond visual monitoring.

AI Risk Radar analyzes supported video sources for configured scenarios such as vehicle-pedestrian proximity, PPE gaps, and obstructed emergency access. A detected event provides evidence for review and action within the system’s coverage, rather than a complete assessment of every workplace hazard.
