CCTV Monitoring

← Back to Industry Terms

CCTV monitoring is the use of closed-circuit television cameras to observe or record activity within covered areas.

Footage may be watched live, reviewed after an event, or analyzed by software. Conventional recording does not automatically identify safety hazards; analytics must be configured to recognize supported scenarios. Coverage, image quality, access rights, and retention arrangements influence how footage can be used.

AI Risk Radar can analyze supported existing CCTV footage alongside other supported video sources for configured industrial risks. For example, an existing camera viewing an emergency route can supply footage for obstruction monitoring. A camera connection does not establish that every hazard in that area can be detected.
