A forklift blue light is a lamp that projects a blue spot onto the floor to warn nearby people of the vehicle’s approach or movement.
The lamp can be directed ahead of or behind a forklift, depending on its installation. The projected spot provides a visual cue that may be useful near doorways or aisle ends, where the vehicle itself is difficult to see. Its visibility depends on ambient light, the floor surface, and the viewing angle.
A conventional blue light does not detect pedestrians or measure their distance. People must notice and understand the signal. It can form part of a wider warning arrangement alongside route separation and detection systems; its presence alone does not establish that a particular interaction is being monitored.
